MMR Vaccine (Priorix)
Who Should Get It:
Priorix (MMR vaccine) protects against three highly contagious viral diseases — measles, mumps, and rubella. It’s recommended for:
Children: First dose at 9–12 months, second dose at 4–6 years
Teens and adults who haven’t been vaccinated or lack immunity
Healthcare workers, teachers, and international travelers
Women of childbearing age (before pregnancy)
Before the Injection:
Inform your provider if you're pregnant, immunocompromised, or allergic to neomycin or gelatin
No special preparation is needed
After the Injection:
Mild side effects may include:
Soreness at the injection site
Low-grade fever or mild rash
Temporary joint pain (more common in adult women)
These usually go away within a few days.
Severe side effects are very rare.
Protection Timeline:
Full protection develops after 2 doses, spaced at least 4 weeks apart
Immunity is long-lasting, often lifelong
